My services changed in 2018 and I couldn’t be happier!

I have been making websites since 2009, and I have found that most small businesses and nonprofits do not need to pay thousands of dollars for a completely customized website done by a developer using code, charging a high rate. Instead, I use beautiful website themes and work solely within WordPress, Squarespace or Weebly to create websites that are informative, easy to navigate and get results for my clients. Websites don’t need to be expensive, they just need to look professional and be effective. My hourly rate is typically much lower than a full developer’s rate. I fill a special niche. And then came MembershipWorks. It totally blew my mind! Now, I love making membership websites with MembershipWorks!

MembershipWorks Platform

I discovered MembershipWorks in 2018 while searching for an online membership solution for the Arts Consortium of Carver County. Since then, I have made membership websites with MembershipWorks for nonprofits and organizations on a regular basis. I love it, but more importantly, my clients love it! It keeps them organized and allows them to put a system in place that many volunteers or employees can access and it’s easy to train the next person who does the tasks. The reporting is great. It increases transparency and accountability and is an overall fantastic tool for membership management and so much more!

Some of the great features I have implemented for clients include, but are not limited to…

• Online payments for donations, classes, event registrations and membership keeping all revenue in one place, using one payment processor, making it easy for bookkeeping and financial reporting.
• Online membership sign up form and automated email renewal notice reminders make collecting and managing membership a snap. Plus, there are options to create automatic recurring payments too, making it super easy for members to set up payment once!
• Flexible Membership terms mean you can set a specific renewal date or membership based on join date. Members can pay monthly or annually by credit card or they can still mail in a check and we can apply a manual payment, keeping all revenue in one spot.
• The robust online membership directory is fantastic and includes options for multiple images, logo, tagline, links, descriptions, categories, contact information, videos and more. And the best part is the member can sign into their account and keep their profile on the membership directory updated, making it easy for organization admins. I think that the membership directory is key for a membership website with MembershipWorks and all organizations should consider it!
• MembershipWorks will immediately sync with MailChimp so when a new member joins, they are automatically added to the MailChimp email list. Great for keeping your newsletter list up-to-date!
• Custom Job Board that can be free for members, but collect a fee from nonmembers, should you choose to monetize part of your website.
• Members Only Announcement Board for all sorts of sharing that keeps the content on your own website vs a third-party site like Facebook.
• Colorful Event Calendars with full event registration “tickets” that can be free or charge a fee to members or nonmembers for expos, workshops, classes, exhibits, seminars, networking events, etc. Creates a database for easy reminders, check-ins and sharing.
• Shopping Cart to sell items and collect specific revenue.
• Custom addons to membership fees for donations in specific increments or a donation form for your website that allows donations in any amount at any time, great for targeted campaigns and annual giving.
• Custom Forms for registering members for one-time or ongoing needs.
• Classified Ads, free or monetized to generate revenue.
• Member Only access to certain pages where groups post documents, forms, and sometimes hide their membership directory, event calendar and announcements so only members can see the member profiles.
• MembershipWorks offers great reporting functions for financial data like revenue by category, and the database can be easily exported to excel or Google docs for sharing or running labels and it integrates with QuickBooks!
• Add “labels” to categorize your database and make targeted communication easy. Labels for committee members, chairpersons, board members, volunteers, donors, etc. You  can email them as a group or download the list for sharing and reporting.
• The best thing is that it’s all in one place and multiple people can access the same data, offering transparency and accountability. Additional users can be added for your Treasurer, Volunteer Coordinator, Chairperson, Board Members, Website Admin, Marketing Team, etc.
• Monthly fees are low and based on how many contacts are in your database. Customization

MembershipWorks offers lots of options for customization and very efficient and automated communication with the members. I do as much or as little as my clients need me to do, at a very affordable hourly rate, and I complete tasks quickly. Let’s talk. Training

I love to TRAIN my clients to do as much of the editing and maintenance as they’d like. I typically provide a couple of custom video tutorials that my clients can use now, and have available for the next volunteer or employee who takes over those tasks. PLUS, I create a custom training Google document that clients can reference anytime. I want my clients to feel comfortable during and after the MembershipWorks installation. I am available for ongoing assistance or my clients manage MembershipWorks themselves after I help get it set up properly.
